  • Deutsches Elektonen-Synchotron

    Subject range: STEM

    What you’ll experience: DESY, located in Zuethen on the south-east edge of the city, is one of the world’s leading particle accelerator centres. Researchers use the large-scale facilities at DESY to explore the microcosm.

  • Deutsches Technikmuseum (Museum of Technology)

    Subject range: STEM

    What you’ll experience: The museum is focused on the history of technology. It is regarded as a high profile teaching establishment where students have an opportunity to investigate a range of machines and technologies.

  • BMW Plant Berlin

    Subject range: STEM

    What you’ll experience: A guided tour of the plant gives insights into many aspects of design, production, engineering and manufacturing. These can be related to parts of the other STEM subject syllabuses.

  • Science Center Spectrum

    Subject range: STEM

    What you’ll experience: Newly re-opened after a redevelopment programme, this is an excellent opportunity to learn through experimentation as well as utilising a range of exhibitions. Some 150 interactive exhibits make science and technology an interactive experience where students can learn many of the basics of science along with technical principles in a fun way.

    What you’ll experience: There are opportunities for students to undertake more than 400 hands-on lab experiments and lectures in genetics, neurobiology, cell biology, radioactivity and chemistry. Mainly focussed on Life Sciences there are links to several subjects relevant to the facilities here.

  • Guided tour of Berlin city centre

    Subject range: STEM

    What you’ll experience: A tour through the centre of the city so that you can relate the great sites you can see, such as the Brandenburg Gate, the TV Tower and Potsdamer Platz, to the issues in your subject that are relevant to the course your students follow.
