What you’ll experience: The Olympic Stadium was originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics by Werner March and is today part of the Olympiapark Berlin. The 1936 Berlin Games are remembered for Hitler’s failed attempt to use them to prove to the world their belief in the Master Race – as it turned out, the hero of the Games was the African-American sprinter and long jumper Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals in the 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m relay and long jump.
